Some helpful details about our program:
What should I wear and bring for class? You can plan to wear comfortable workout clothes and bring water. You can choose to do the workout barefoot or wearing indoor cross trainers. Please make sure to carry your workout shoes in as we do not allow street shoes to be worn on our mats.
What to expect during your workout? Riverview Kickboxing is a challenging group exercise class designed to assist all people of all fitness levels to meet their fitness goals. Our program addresses four training components for optimal health: Cardiovascular, Strength, Flexibility and Community.
Gloves: The gloves we typically sell new students are starter gloves. They are breathable, lightweight and you can throw them in the washer and dryer after class. However, being lightweight gloves after a few weeks of hitting the bags you may find that you want something more substantial so you can hit the bag harder with more support. There are many options out there, so if you find you want to explore different options we would be happy to talk with you.
What is our number one rule? At RKB, our first rule is- IF IT HURTS, DO NOT DO IT!! If you can’t do an exercise without pain, or the fear of pain, it is not correct and we ask that you stop immediately or modify the movement. At any point during your workout, you can modify the movements to increase or decrease intensity which allows you to start where you are at and safely and consistently build towards greater health in each workout. That said, you are responsible for working within your body’s limitations. Consistent results come from consistent work. Consistent work cannot happen if you are injured! Please do not follow along with anything that is not at your current skill level. Any advice from instructors is an attempt to offer general suggestions that work for most people. It is up to you to research or test, but you are the expert of your body and need to maintain your limitations at all time.
Do I need to tell you what classes I am coming to? No, your membership is Unlimited and you are welcome to attend any and all classes that work for your schedule. We recommend 2-3 classes per week to start to become familiar with the class, and to start to develop that consistent routine that will help you reach your fitness goals.
The Riverview Kickboxing Community: Riverview staff and instructors are here to support you on your fitness journey. We will check in regularly throughout your trial on the floor and with informational emails. If you have specific questions or feel like you need more support throughout your trial, we are happy to offer more support on anything from being an accountability partner (to crack that whip :), questions about nutrition, or technique! If you want to schedule an appointment with an RKB staff, you can call or email the office to set-up an appointment, or roll the dice and give us a call to see if we are open and available! We are passionate to see you succeed in reaching your goals and being the happiest and healthiest version of you living your best life!!
